Therapy for pregnancy, postpartum, relationships, and beyond

The metamorphosis of parenthood can break us wide open, but you don’t have to do it alone.

About Jackie

I’m so glad you’re here! I understand how challenging pregnancy, postpartum, and new parenthood can be. Maybe you’re feeling pushed to the outer edges of your capacity. Maybe old losses and traumas are resurfacing, or you’re feeling lost in the forest of change and unsure when the ground will steady itself again. Maybe you feel far away from your partner and unsure of how to reconnect to each other. Maybe you’re navigating pregnancy loss or fertility challenges and walking through the spiral of grief, or struggling to decide if you want to become a parent at all. We are not meant to do this alone - I’m so glad you’re reaching out for support. Regardless of the specific circumstances, this is a period of metamorphosis, and is an incredibly rich time to engage in therapy work.

I'm a psychodynamic therapist who sees the therapeutic relationship and what occurs within it as paramount, and within that frame, the specific modalities I work with most often are parts work/IFS-informed, Jungian, and Narrative approaches for individuals, and Attachment, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Gottman with couples.

Outside of being a therapist, I'm a mother, a writer, and an artist. In my off-time you'll find me exploring nature with my daughter and partner, thread-painting and working with textiles, making sourdough, and bird-watching.

My Approach

Meeting You Where You Are

As a therapist, I'm down-to-earth, welcoming, and creative. I believe in radical self-compassion and acceptance, and in meeting you where you are without judgment. I’m curious to get to know you - the real you. I believe that even the most “difficult” parts of us have wisdom to share, and are worthy of compassion.

With couples, I don’t start by trying to “fix” - I start by getting to know you. I want to know what you do well together, as well as what’s causing you to struggle, because those strengths are foundational to healing.

Understanding What’s Beneath the Surface

Together, we’ll explore patterns, parts of your inner landscape, and relational dynamics that may be keeping you stuck.

I practice psychodynamically, which means I place a strong focus on the therapeutic relationship and what unfolds there. I often integrate IFS-informed, Jungian, and Narrative approaches to help us make sense of individual and relational patterns.

With couples, we’ll investigate attachment patterns and histories, as well as the deeper longings that are often at the heart of our conflicts. We’ll uncover the ruptures that are seeking to be repaired, and work to communicate openly and with differentiation. I bring wisdom from attachment, EFT, and Gottman approaches to aid us in identifying what’s occurring and where we might be able to shift the dynamic.

Making Meaning and Creating Change

Making meaning out of our struggles is one of the most beautiful and important things we do as humans, and is a powerfully healing process. I see dreams, archetypes, myths, and personal narratives as wise resources for this work, and often incorporate these aspects into therapy. I help you tap into your inner resources and find your authentic wisdom and strength, so that change can naturally unfold according to what’s authentic for you.

As a systemic therapist, I see couples work as one of the most powerful vehicles for change, both individually and relationally. Our relationships invite us to face our deeper longings, our projections, and our growth edges. I work to create a supportive space where you can learn new skills, feel safe being challenged, and collaborate on pathways forward, together.

  • Absolutely! Your baby is always welcome at individual sessions. For couples sessions, we’ll decide on a case-by-case basis, as sometimes couples sessions aren’t appropriate for babies due to conflict or emotional overwhelm. Unfortunately I don’t allow older children to be present for sessions.

  • I might be, and I might not be! I am always supportive when clients want to do a trial run, because fit is so important to the success of therapy. Generally, my style is gentle, open, and active. I trust you and what you bring each week, but I don’t sit in silence and expect you to guide the work yourself - I will offer suggestions, activities, and practices to help you delve more deeply into what you bring to sessions. I also often incorporate humor, reflective and meditative practices, and creativity into the therapy space. I’m not afraid to challenge you, but I always work to do so with humility, openness, and gentleness.

I hold a Master of Arts in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy from Lewis & Clark College. I’ve been working with clients since 2021, when I was a graduate student intern working with children, families, adults, and couples in a community mental health setting. I have specific training in perinatal mental health and am engaging in continuing education in perinatal EMDR to treat trauma (estimated date to offer EMDR to clients is May 2026). I’ve been in private practice since 2022, working with individual adults and couples. I am currently supervised by Jessica Thomas, PhD, LMFT.
